• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Eureka, I have it.

The Micik Mimi-2-SS from Slovakia, nearby the Balkans.

Here are some more pictures:

I even had saved that homepage as a favorite somewhen, but didn't remember it until now. :dizzy:

For those interested, I could decipher some technical data of this rarity:

Span 5.4 m, length 4.8 m, engine a Walter Mikron with 60 hp.

That, Robert, looks like the Paul Schmitt P.S.7.

Somehow, that gentleman at the front is unmistakeably French !

Hi Mike:encouragement:
She is the GCA-3 Etabeta and a sister of the Pedro and the final design of G.C.A.
Registration I-RAIF

This is an Austrian design by Robert Frauwallner and Michael Berkmann named RF1.
First aircraft (OE-VRF and later OE-CRF) had a 118hp Lycoming O-235. Number 2 (OE-ABM) with 160/180hp Lycoming O-320.
Marketed by RF Aircraft for amateur construction.

Open House, please

Something Different

The make and type is obvious but there is something really unusual about this aircraft.

Care to hazard a guess? The more info the better.:encouragement:

Pete, you are correct on the test mule / no registration. Are you sure about the single color?

A keen eye...

What I was going for here is that this test DC-6 was painted red on the port side and blue on the starboard side. Half and half!

Yes technically it was to test solid colors but hoped that someone would spot the dividing line.

Interesting to note that when Braniff was unveiling the Flying Colors, the lavender example had to be quickly phased out as it was considered an unlucky color in the Latin culture and they feared traveling on it.

Pete- the board is yours if you want to post a new mystery. If no response in a reasonable amount of time, it can be an open board.

Probably not so much of a mystery

Carrying on from Moses' er, lateral thinking question
