• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Worked up a good sweat on this one. No it's not a Buhl, Ryan, Travel Air or Stinson or even an Overcashier...argh. I believe it is a Curtiss-Robertson (C1?) Robin, with the OX-5 engine.

So many nuances and variables with the Curtiss line around this time so it is hard to pin down.

Absolutely right Moses she's a Curtiss-Robertson Robin with OX-5...have a good pint of cider (sorry I can't drink it as it gives me heartburns!)
Cheers

Thanks BG.

This wee one was built on the cheap (less than $200) at the time. I left the "N" on the tail but it is not at Aerofiles...

Hi Kevin:encouragement:
A shot in the dark! White Special (N30837?) by William L. White. The tail does not really fit, but was the word experimental not mandatory after WW2?

Hi Kevin:encouragement:
Thank you for all the info on this early homebuilt. Seems N90837 indeed had a more rounded tail later (see photos).

Hi Keith :encouragement:
If you get even closer, you may end up building one:very_drunk:.
This is the unique SR-6 by Stampe-Renard which owed much to the Stampe SV-4. The aircraft first flew as OO-SRX in 1949 and was also briefly tested in Belgian AF colours.
Engine was a 175hp Mathis G-7R radial. The registration was cancelled in April 1954 and the aircraft was scrapped
Here is a better picture (courtesy Guy van Merckt)

Your turn, please!
