:icon29: Yes, that’s a reasonable answer even if the type number isn’t “100% correct”.

The photo shows Nieuport 83 no. 8431 F-ATMT at Angers-Avrillé in 1924. The Nieuport 83 E2 was a derivative of the Nieuport 10 two-seater, with controls only for the pilot in the rear cockpit.
 
Here is a somewhat elusive flying boat I have investigated in the past. Finally found a photo worth posting (barely!).

Right! This one had a clerget engine and was the first effort from this firm who designed an array of both civil and military types right up until WWII.
 
It is the Romano. Right on gX!:guinness:

Flown in 1922 and was tested with a 4-bladed prop as well.

These are the only other photos I could find. Anyone have a decent shot aside from the replica?

Comprehensively out-floatered - I'm losing it.........!

I'm wondering why anyone would go to the trouble of building a full-size replica of an obscure machine that only flew once ??

Here is my next plane. The design isn’t too different from the previous one. Is it therefore a forerunner or a follower of the Romano R-1?
