The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

I think he's more likely looking for the cork for his bottle of pastis.......

The curious Viiliers 2, which had a 'fuselage marin' to allow it to float when ditching in emergencies. The designers obviously had little faith in the reliability of their machine.

Over to BG :very_drunk:

Thanks Lefty!
I agree it's a more enjoyable task looking for a pastis bottle rather than for holes.....sorry boys and girls I'm forced to declare OH because my hosting system doesn't work properly and nine times out of ten it refuses to upload the d....d image! Therefore carry on please till this problem is fixed...
Cheers

see what happens?

This would be the St-Just Aviation Cyclone, a Canadian homebuilt variant of the Cessna 180 incorporating modifications such as top hinged doors and an extended wingspan. They also market the Super Cyclone, basically a higher gross weight variant of the Cessna 185, incorporating similar modifications.

Wow. That was quick! You got it. How did you tell the difference between that and a Cessna 180? They look almost identical.

We had a 1956 Cessna 180 in the family for about 25 years. The differences jump out immediately....but I had no foreknowledge of the Cyclone.....I had to google Cessna 180 replica....copies, etc. to find it.

Precisely, giruXX. The only other photograph I've seen of the AL.7 was taken nose on and doesn't do justice to the oddball (with apologies to Miroslav Nenadovitch) nature of this aeroplane. Away you go!

Well BG, I didn't have to get very far into my Putnam to find this one - in fact it's on the first page ! It's the A.E.G. C IV.

I know at least one who will not be surprised by this one......:mixed-smiley-010:... but it is really quite cute -
