• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Wow, 3,000 posts in this thread already! :jump:

Will have to come up with something interesting for post #3,001...

Hmm, it's going to take a wee while to get used to this new system......

Thanks, Ferry - I too am surprised that one got past Dallas radar......

What about this ?View attachment 30936 - not a homebuild - production was planned.

(Hmmm, thought I would test the post - click on pic to enlarge, then couldn't shrink it again! Got to go back in browser ????)

Help, men ! Having eventually got into the forum by a somewhat roundabout route, I click on 'Home' to be informed I do not have privileges etc etc....

Hope this is a glitsch - how are we supposed to get in when we are already logged in ?????

The new forums are a work in progress. Please pardon our "dust" as we get it up to speed. Yes, it looks like you have to go back in your browser after clicking on a attachment. Everyone is struggling with the new look and format. Hope we didn't lose our past attachments again!

This the Bacon Super T-6 again?

Try logging out and deleting all your SOH cookies. When you login again it should fix a few nits.

Next up, a vintage floater.

Looks like a lot of the previous attachments are gone for good due to the forums changeover. Nothing to do but press on.

The floater is a prototype. One built that didn't see production.

I had a feeling that was going to happen - I suppose attachments can't last forever, we see it on other sites all the time - blank pages where pics are supposed to be. Makes all the more sense of my inclination towards a permanent database....

Can't track down your proto - looks like Paris Salon 1913/13 ? Is it French ? Tail looks a bit Letord ?

I'm beginning to wish I had spent my few bucks on wine women and song..........

I dread posting anything these days because there seems to be a 90% certainty I posted the same one last week........(It;s OLD AGE, you know)

However, this Thunderbirds special may be an exception to this rule..(sorry it's a grotty pic)

Hello Wout ! Welcome to the New Look (Hmmmmm.) You are of course right with the Monte-Copter special. I wonder why we never saw lots of these buzzing around ??????

flying fuselage w/o wings (years later called flying body when built by reputed and government backed airframers)

That Sir, is the Horton Wingless prototype (N87698) of 1950. Powered by a 215hp Franklin engine. The prop is in the front obscured from view in this angle.
