No. The designer was actually born in Austria. Trainer, production in double figures. One survives.

It's the Sparman type S1A, 1935, produced for the Swedish army, but don't know much more, except that I should have seen it a long time ago in Linkoping, the Swedish museum where he's resting.

Correct - the first cursory glance put the word floater in my head for some reason.

The latest mystery would be the Richter Ric-Jet 4.

By the way, had an e-mail from Tuncay Deniz, the Turkish aircraft guru. He confirms John's mystery as the Vecihi XVII, but has no more info on it.
