The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Another hot toddy for Lefty on the Caudron. :guinness:

No more Lorings for now I promise. Of the source I have, this one and the RB in the earlier post were the only notable and distinct of the bunch in my opinion.

No more Lorings? Now there's a relief.

Things are looking up - I am able to breathe this morning (after a fashion), which brings a new dimension to life. Thank you for your commiserations.

It's the weekend - well, life is one long weekend for us retired types :icon_lol: - so we'll not be unkind and steer clear of the 1920's Balkan horrors. Here's a nice friendly floater for you.

Not sure, but I think it might be a Lycoming-powered N150M Grumman Goose... Certainly looks like the old Goose with a couple of extra engines. (Thought McKinnon might have had something to do with it too.) Rarissime Avis Est!

Well of course it's a Goose, and those are Lycomings, and you dropped a hint about the manufacturer -you are 95% there - oh well with all this Christmas spirit about, I shall be benevolent and award you a :guinness: for the McKinnon G-21-C, if only for your wonderful new avatar, Ralf !

Dank u! Got a bad cold myself, but I'm glad you like the new avatar & see that you, too, have a festive one :snowman::santahat:. You can easily imagine the wings on those McKinnon Geese taking off and leaving the rest of the aircraft on the ground (or water, or wherever).

Anyway, here's something a bit rare I came across recently:

Looks to me like a F+W C-36 series, most likely a C-3603. Definitely not the 3605, since it has the original shorter nose.

You are right SabreAce, the C-3603 :icon29: !

It's impossible to hide its Swissness :switzerla: and of course there aren't very many aircraft from that mountainous place.

Over to you...

Just realized that was my first post since the crash. Ah well.

I'm sure this one will be rather quickly ID'd.

Looks like a Hanriot H.220-2?

Welcome back SabreAce! I spent many great summers (and the odd winter) in Middleboro visiting my Aunt & Uncle.

Well done. :icon29:

Although the picture "officially" shows a Hanriot (later SNCAC) NC.600, a little bit of research shows it did wear the H.220-2 designation early on, prior to receiving the NC.600 number.

You're up, Moses.

Had a look at that late last night, gave up & went to . Thought you Americans would have got through about five more aircraft while Europe slept, but find it's still with us; Well done Mo'!

Thought it might be a Fleetwings, Sikorsky, or even a Brit - none of those though. Baffled. Lefty must know...

Suzie & Jayne are asking : Where is everybody?

I've been flying a Sabena DC-6 from Schiphol to Heathrow in about 1956 today. Wanna pilot the DC-6B for KLM in the Caribbean, but it's a bit more complicated, so thought I'd work my way up to that. It's a ProFlight Yoke System thing...

Sorry been away today with the family. Thought this one would have lasted about 10 min.

You might be closer than you think Ralf...

I've been away too, and curling last night. No takers, then, for Moses' Sikorsky XSS-2 ???

Actually, I know that one is right, so in accordance with custom, will press on with something completely different, as Monty Python used to say

Well actually,Ralf, SabreAce is right to add the question mark, because it isn't a McDonnell 220 !

This is the same aircraft, but in its previous incarnation as the McDonnell 119, a proposed USAF utility/training aircraft. It was converted as a commercial airliner and renamed the 220. So I suppose the only real difference would be the provision of a drinks trolley, but then again maybe the USAF have those too...........

The original reg, if I hadn't photoshopped it out, was N119, changed to N220, and subsequently it was sold off and became N4AZ. (the livery is different too) Anyone know if it is still around ?

:icon29: to SabreAce for his 99% correct answer !
