• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Ha ! The Hiro G2H (Type 95) bomber. Had this ready to post too, oddly enough.

Correct on the Whitley Mk1 prototype in one of its several manifestations. Thought the motors and turret might confuse - should have known better with you lot!

What's this?

FYI- Housekeeping note from management:

Server Reboot Tomorrow. Pass the word in your forums, I will be doing a server reboot at 6 Am eastern tomorrow morning, Jan 10, 2011.

It's a three-off. As usual, Mike is on the right track. I thought it had a French look (Bleriot?) but the photo was too clean. :icon_lol:

Enough of this one eh? It's a Engineering Division CO-1. (The photo at Aerofiles shows the one that was sent over to Gallaudet for further refinement and is off by one year).

And now for something completely different...

That would be the Stits SA-4 Executive. *OH* if correct. (Kevin, dipping your toes into the prohibited pool of homebuilds?? Fine line here as it was a one-off custom built by a designer known for homebuilt kits.) :) No complaints - a 'little' diversification might be in order for the new year.

Interestingly, according to Aerofiles the SA-4 was originally designed for a Besler Steam Engine.

This one probably fell in the acceptable range - we'll forego the flogging, but for the record most of the early one-offs we post here are in fact 'homebuilts' in that they originated in someone's garage, built with whatever they had at their disposal. I guess I'd look at a Van's RV-4 differently than the Stit's SA-4 because the Van's was designed to be sold as a plan / kit marketed for homebuilders. Either way, it's Open House and I'm eagerly awaiting the next challenge.

Blast! - haven't seen a good flogging for ages...........

John, you're obviously raring to go, so sink your teeth into this floater.
