• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Mike, not Third World, but the country no longer exist in original form.
This company (organization) produced quite some aircraft, although few types reached production status.
Fixed undercarriage (seems logical with only a 60hp engine).
In the photo is may look larger than it actually was.

Country no longer exists, eh ? Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia are the obvious suspects there - could it be a product of the Ljubljana school that churned out lots of designs ??

Sorry Kevin, but Mike is nearing the solution with Yugoslavia
The producer (I am not sure the organization was commercial, but it was not a flying club or aeronautical university or similar). They liked to give their designs numbers in the 200, 400 and 500 series, although this one also had a (nick) name with a political meaning.
Can`t make it any easier. :mix-smi:

This is the Ikarus Model 252 Prvi Maj (or 1 May). Developed to meet a Government requirement for a light aeroclub trainer/tourer. Competing Cijan C-3 Trojka was selected.
Only other picture I have is attached drawing.

OPEN HOUSE please

Well that's a truly obscure one - we'll have to try to cultivate a Balkan corrspondent, I fear !

We don't often do gliders here, but I'll sneak this one in because it is, er, powered...............
