The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Well at least two of our regulars are in the right groove (or should I say SLOT :icon_lol:)

so hopefully one of them will soon be FLUSHING it out............

Oops, wasn't quite awake this morning and confused it with an aircraft from the Dutch East-indies.. :redf:

This one is very Dutch indeed..

Okay, let's circle the wagons a little closer. This is a De Shelde S.12.

Will press on with a passenger twin-

Since this thread is about mystery aircraft, here is a mystery for you (I assume) :icon_lol:
Not a model (because I have seen it in the flesh). it carried a registration and the engine in the back could swivel for "STOL performance". Lack of much info makes me think it was not really successful.

I saw the aircraft at Brown Field, Ca (near San Diego) in 1984. In the pic it has a tapered wing, when I saw it it (see attached pic) had an entirely different almost constant chord wing (reportedly from a Cessna 150) and clearly had been stored in the open for a long time. First time I saw it was in an ad in in Air Progress. Seems that one of the companies involved still exist in San Diego, but no reply when I wrote them.

I have it in my "book" as the Rotor Wing Ultra-Stol and the registration N25RW was assigned.
Firms involved were Rotor Wing Systems, Coronado, Ca. and High Technology Aircraft System, Inc. of San Diego, Ca. Design is attributed to a Dr. Gordon and reportedly the aircraft left the ground at least twice. According to info I got years ago from Mr. William F. Chana (Convair, Bee Aircraft and past president of the San Diego Air & Space Museum) the aircraft had two 50hp engines and in final form wings from a Cessna 150. N25RW was completed around 1978. Other source says the engine output was 150hp total.
So now I am anxiously waiting for someone to fill in the full details. :jump:

...and Open House please

I still haven't recovered from Walter's Rotor Wing Ultra-Stol. :icon_lol: (Could not find a thing about it on the net!).
