Navarro Chief - I haven't seen this particular photo of her before though. Anyone have a photo of the Navarro KR-1 or the Navarro Nereid? I'm not sure if those were projects or if they ever were built, thus they have remained in the 'No Photos' section of my archives. Navarro also had an amphibian on the drawing board - a concept model was built (below). He had some interesting ideas regarding aerodynamic stability which didn't seem to fare well in real world testing.

Yes, it is indeed the Navarro Chief. I read somewhere that this particular aircraft only flew once amd was auctioned in 1932 in the UK.
I'm also interested in the question you have risen i.e.: was the Navarro Naiad ever built or was it merely a project? Does anybody know?

Negative on the Klemm or any German connection that I'm aware of - she's an all american girl. 5 were built in the early '30's.
 
We'll move along - this is the Westbrook W-5. Apparently the design was going to be revived in 1939 as the Allied H-28 sport trainer, however no aircraft were ever built. Open house.

I don't know when it was built and which engine was fitted. It seems only one prototype was ever built

indeed the Hindustan HCP-25 (or L.A.S. Logistic Air Support). Unfortunately not much is known about this aircraft, as you already pointed out .
It is possible that the aircraft was modified from a Noorduyn Norseman and comparing it to the latter the changes in the undercarriage, vertical tail and cabin windows are evident. IF it was a modified Norseman, the engine could have been a P&W R-1340, although I will not exclude the British Alvis Leonides or a Wright engine. First flight date is reported as September 1960 and the development was under the leadership or Dr. V.M. Ghatage.

yes of course it is the Stout batwing (Vampire Bat) of 1918 powered by a Hisso engine (150HP).
