The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Note the nifty rudder/water skid pontoon tail combo thingy...

Going to reset as this one is a bit off the beaten path. It is the SIA Luzzato of 1913. Anyone have more info on it?

Here is something a bit more fun.

The Germans were very fond of sticking these 'hardtops' on various bipes - this looks like the Rumpler 5A2 but the tail is different !

I had three names for this one; Rumpler CI (listed in Reg as D-290), Rumpler Limousine and the 5A2. I'd say good enough Mike.:guinness:

Hi Mike :salute:
I do realize that I am stepping out of my terrain, but this is the Romanian SET 4 (1932).
I got the same photo in my list for future use.....but then the aircraft is facing the other way.
Let`s start a discussion who got the original, you or me

It's easy to work out if you know which way the propeller is turning........:mixedsmi:

But mine is a mirror version of the fancy Romanian machine ! Over to you, Walter - :icon29:

Hi Larry :salute:
Bingo. :icon29:
A NAvion/Rangemaster with some modifications and named Kamery Tigmiapuk.
Wider track gear, taller tail, raised rear upper decking, wingtip tanks, sliding canopy replaced by fixed hood with entry door(s). Story goes that it was first modified into a twin (two Ranger engines) and then these were replaced by a single 300hp Lycoming R-680. Work was done by a Mr. Robert Kamery, Clay Center, Ks. around 1959/1960.

PS: never saw a pic of the Tigmiapuk as twin NAvion (but one cannot have it all, they say)

Your turn, Sir

Thanks Wout. After 2.5 years of working on a Ryan Navion for FSX (which is getting close to release) I think I've seen most of the Navion photos on the web by now. :icon_lol:

There is also an oddball tri-motor Navion photo on the web somewhere. It was a conversion to a Twin Navion that retained the original engine. Needless to say it was the only one built (in Alaska I believe) as drag and fuel consumption were big issues.

Unfortunately I don't have anything to offer up as a challenge so it's Open House time chaps!

Hi Larry :salute:
Thinks this is the Trimotor Navion you referred to.
Next challenge will follow shortly

Hope this one was not on the forum before. Checked with the search function.
Not a homebuilt and older than you may think......,and it still exists in a beautiful restored (static) condition.
