Cheap whisky. Doesn't kill 'em immediately but ruins their little livers......

Anyway, back to Moses' flying pancake - the nearest I can find is the Eshelman Flying Flounder, but the pics in you-know-where are a bit distorted and grainy.

I don't know Eshelman's Flying Flounder as suggested by esteemed Lefty....
Could it be instead the Eichmann "Bat I" (1937 - USA ) [NX17638]? I have a pic of this item in a very dilapidated state (the item I mean not the pic).
:confused:Cheers

I retreat with shame....I just found out that it is Eshelman's "Flying Flounder" and all honours being vented upon Lefty, the winner!

Thanks for the OJ, Kevin. (You trying to tell me something ??) Hope you caught the other videos on the same site - Horton Wingless, Custer, etc - the shot of the Flounder landing is a bit scary !

Anyway, here's something a bit different - no prizes for guessing the aircraft, but what is that slung under it, and why ???

A Swiss Mosquito test-bed for the Swiss-Mamba SM-01 turbojet intended for the "Aiguillon".

The aircraft was reportedly the sole Mosquito interned by the Swiss during the war...

You got it, Rob :icon29:. Fascinating story - sadly the machine (originally G-LY) eventually succumbed to glue decomposition problems and was scrapped in 1953, after 185 flights in Swiss colours.

Actually, another Mossie, PT-3, was forced to land in Switzerland in 1944 and used for training before engine problems forced its retirement.
