The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Congratulations Moses it wasn't easy!
It is indeed the Tampier Avion-Auto without the second set of wheels:icon29::guinness: (I don't know your tastes).
Your well deserved turn
BG

Thanks BG. Had not seen a photo of that one on two wheels before.

Here is a stylish number-

Inverted six yes, but not an Alfa Romeo. This particular engine showed up in three different aircraft- all from the same builder. First flight in 1938 and was left for dead by the end of 1940.

Welp, this one was a little off the beaten path. It's a Compagnia Nazionale Aeronautica (CNA) 25. Mike was sniffing around the right country.

Onward and upward with a small twin...

Here's another twin. I know this has appeared here before some time ago, but some of you younger whippersnappers may not have come across it. Certain Texans and Dutchmen may apply some discretion here...

Good morning to everybody!
This is a SIPA S70 (F-WCZI) of 1949....
Cheers
BG

PS I don't think I have seen her before on this thread!

It must have been the earlier incarnation of the thread, anyway, BG, you are absolutely correct, it's the SIPA S.70

Please proceed and enjoy a refreshment on me - :icon29: - I hope your weather is more appropriate for cold beers than it is here - mulled wine more like........

I've always been intrigued by this photo - it looks like a mockup, but the thing did fly - do you know of any other images ?

Thanks Moses and Lefty!
I was also intrigued by the fate of this SIPA i.e. whether it actually flew or not....
Anyway this is my next offer (an ugly horrible pic)
Cheers
BG

Well let me try again.

sGentlemen!
Excuses for late reaction on the Sipa S-70. Seems the S-70 is indeed surrounded by mysteries.
It is NOT MENTIONED in the book Les Avions Francais de 1944-1964.
The mock-up surely was at the 1946 Paris Salon (without registration?) and in my notes I found that the S-70 was finally flown in July 1949, but only briefly tested. I wonder why Sipa would put a registraton on a mock-up after they had shown it at the Salon. This could indicate that the S-70 was actually built and this then would coincide with the fact that the Observers Book of Aircraft of 1949 has the S-70 listed.
Engines of the S-70 are usually reported as two 205hp Mathis G-8R, but I have also seen reference to the 240hp Argus As-10C or even 150hp Potez 4D (Wikipedia, which seems dangerous for a 8-passenger aircraft). It seems to me the engine nacelles on the 2 photos are quite different.
On a site on model aircraft I found the registrations F-WCZA as well as F-WCZI.
So Please remove the tarpaulins, drag it out of your barn, put some air in the tires and tell us the real story on the S-70.
The only other pic I found is attached (from the Observers Book of Aircraft?)
