The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

It's the Comper Fly, prototype for the Scamp (which would have been a two-seater). It was supposed to be registered as G-AFPV, but this was never taken up, and it emerged as the Heston HAC-7, s/n T1788.
Which serial, to further muddy the waters, was subsequently also applied to another aircraft.

OK ?

(The Wikipedia entry is misleading - the Fane F1/40 was a quite different machine, seen below)

Here is a grainy tractor floater. The wing pontoons were made out of rubber. Ouch!

This is the postwar Applegate-Piper Clipper. Applegate sold the design to Piper who reengined with a continental tractor and intended on mass production, but in the end only the one was produced and the plan was dropped.
 
Don't see why the rubber floats should be a problem - there are enough rubber boats around these days !

I'm not sure either whether I've seen it here or on another thread however it is for sure the Chicago-Midwest X101 of 1929....

Well it is a very strange summer over here with some sun drenched days and high temperatures and some very stormy spells with lots of heavy rain...well we are going tropical!

This one-off is the Barbaro RB-50 from France (1965). Unless it is the RB-51, because the aircraft was reported as having been modified from RB-50 to RB-51 in 1969.
Anyone able to enlighten me on the nature of the modifications??

My own (uneducated) guess is that it was the RB-50 when fitted with a 65hp Continental A65 engine (allegedly taken from René Barbaro`s earlier RB-30, together with the wings) and that it became the RB-51 when the Continental C90 was installed.

Any votes from the jury ??

The picture of my enigmatic aircraft is tagged as René Barbaro RB50 fitted with a Continental C90. If it may be of any help it bears the registration F-PLUD. Practically that's all I know about it ( I have never understood why Aviafrance makes no mention or reference to any aircraft by René Barbaro a great character in french aviation history! ).
Now please surprise us with a real mystery craft from your apparently bottomless cache....

This design is a mix of existing parts/components combined with new features. Several have been completed so far, mainly for use as glider tug/club aircraft
