• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Lefty is on track with the one-off American. Of note, the designer was the first to build and fly a powered aeroplane in his original country.

Interesting Watson, but I'm clueless

Actually that odd tail looks familiar but it's -17C (4*F) and my brain is frozen..

Boy I wish we could get a taste of the cold here!

This one was built for a late 1920's competition but failed for not meeting certain flying qualities.

There's a sadistic streak in our Texan friend - he's turning the thumbscrews very slowly on this one, and is determined that we trawl through every entry in Aerofiles only to find it ain't there at all........:banghead:

Okay, this is the Alfaro X-13. It was one of the 1928 Guggenheim entrants. Prior to this Heraclio Alfaro had been the first to build and fly in Spain.

Here is something younger...

Good digging, Moses ......:icon29: (dearie me, I wish some clever person would sort those smileys out. It takes me forever to find the beer.)

Sorry not much help - cannot find anything fitted with an ADC Cirrus II that fits a description of the aircraft, let alone a photo, on the web that is!
Although it looks a tad familiar!

Okay, this one has fallen through the cracks of time it would seem. It is the Wibault 340 or Wibault-Penhoet 340. About the smallest design they built.

Open board please-
