Struggling a bit here, BG. Obviously looks like an Italian reg, but that could be a red herring.....

Thought it might be Lombarda, but the now thinking perhaps Pomilio ? Looks like a special machine for a record attempt ?

I'm afraid you're barking the wrong tree Lefty.
I'll give you a small but important clue the first registration letter isn't an I but a L

Dohhh, basic mistake yet again !

Well, that means it must be an Aero 14 Brandenburg - funnily enough there are a few photos of these gentlemen on the net - sitting in L-BARI (must be a sister ship of this, because I don't think that's an 'I' at the end.)

And an Aero A14 it is indeed!:applause:

The big Italian brute is the Bastianelli P.R.B. of 1921. It reportedly flew well but did not enter production.

Moses knows his Bastianellis....:icon29:

Seems to be a very large gap between upper and lower wings - I wonder if there is an optimum figure for this ?

Unfortunately Wiki (as usual) has its data wrong, so I cannot guess at the wing chord (103 ft span for a wing area of 132 sq ft???)
Keith

Here is another photo I have of the P.R.B. Pretty decent sized machine!

nozgb6.jpg

And the next mystery...a little runabout...

j0xhu9.jpg

Edit: Found a couple more photos of the P.R.B. that I had not seen before. So we know it survived into 1922. Note the large "PRB" letters painted on the nose.

Hi boys and girls!
Nice find of the P.R.B. never heard of it!
Anyway the pictured Aircraft is the De Bernardi MdB-02 "Aeroscooter" of 1959. One copy is shown at the Caproni Museum in Northern Italy...

Looks like the Praga BH-36 to me, BG. Was that not a one-off prototype ?

You're as usual right my dear Lefty! It is the Praga BH36:applause:....my stupid comments are due to the fact that some sources (wrongly) maintain that the BH36 was the ancestor of the Praga BH39 or E39...
Therefore your turn please
