The Ongoing Mystery Aircraft Thread Part Deux.

Not so thunderous - in fact I posted it before some time ago - but it is such an oddball that it deserves another airing........

A bit of luck there as I have somewhere at the back of my mind remembering photos from a book I had on Bristol Aircraft & the engine & cowling looked very familiar, so a long shot looking at Bristol aircraft pictures threw up the Bulldog of course and the parentage very obvious. There seems to be some doubt about this particular aircraft, but I think it was the last of the 4 built & had a 'J' serial IIRC. Not a success but did lead to the design & development of the Frise aileron, according to some websites.

Anyway my offering & just to make it bit more difficult its a grainy picture!!! (The other one has a copyright on it!)

Yes, thats the one. Not so obscure as I thought - I had not seen it before when I found it the other day!
Seems that Miles had exactly the same problem initially with his Libellula, but fathomed a change of CofG would help, which it did.
Over to you sir.:very_drunk:

Been called many things - but Floater Kraken I like......:encouragement:

Here's a non-floating passenger machine that was not a success..

It has a vague Tachikawa air but I'm pretty sure to be barking the wrong tree.....maybe one small clue would be in order?

My gut reaction was something oriental as well. Nothing is turning up in Putnam's early Japanese volume though.

I was hoping to give our Moses the honour of post number 10000 :applause: :very_drunk: :redfire:but here goes !!

This machine won't be found amongst the orientals, or in Aerofiles, nor is it a Balkan horror - it is much closer to home than that.........from a well-known manufacturer, who have their very own Putnam.........
