The Padury Hanger

Hi All. it's been a while...

I'm resurecting the Padbury Hanger and it should be moving in the next week or so to www.pavaservices.co.uk/cfs and although now in the wilds of West Cumbria some 200 miles from Padbury I'll keep the name on for old times sake.

I'm intending to get back into things but only slowly so don't expect any new releases anytime soon. I need to get to grips with gmax and I'm way behind the ball on current best practice. So if anyone has any tips it would be most appreciated.

Cheers Jed

Hey Jed,
Welcome back!

It's been a few years or what??!!

Hope all's well?

Best of luck with 'new' site and look forward to some new creations.

Jed,

It's wonderful to see you back, and I look forward to any new products or updates. Unfortunately, my expertise on Gmax is non-existent. :wiggle:

Oh very good news, I loved your Wellesleys and Rocs, it would be good to see them upgraded. Not to mention the BP's

Thanks for the comments, I didn't realise that I'd be missed.

The website is now back up at www.pavaservices.co.uk/CFS. It's pretty crude at the moment but I have more space.

My first task will be to finish off the Percival Prentice which was nearly done before my PC went t*ts up. I lost my copy of FSDS 3.0 (as well as the source files for the Roc and Skua). I tried to get a new copy or just an activation key from Abacus but they would only supply version 3.5 which uses make mdl. FSDS 3.0 would compile the models fine but 3.5 results in a shed load of errors which I need to work through.

When I can get it to compile it without errors I need to fix the glaringly obvious error in the canopy which is about 6 to 12 inches too high and finish the textures. A beta version is available on the website for FS9.

Then if I can find my source code for the Type A turret a full rework of the Defiant will be on the books.
What are the must have aircraft that I've missed in the last 6 years?

Does anyone know if Pstraney finished the Do17?

Cheers Jed

Hi Jed,
nice to see you again here.
I have been away for over a year incl. a move just as you.
Real life things are sorted now, but time will be very limited.

But it still is very fascinating, isn`t it`?

Great,it is so good to see at least one of the old names being reactivated. I've always enjoyed your selection of slightly different airplanes. :mixedsmi:

Hi Jed,

I've seen in a thread over at Lindsay's site that says Abacus will happily supply FSDS 2.24 (native CFS2 mdls) if you call the customer service number & request. Maybe they'll supply version 3.0?

Jed,

I'm looking forward to a reworked Defiant, thanks!

As far as "must-have" aircraft in the last six years, the FDGv2 ex-Donationware aircraft (Corsairs, B-17s, P-36s, F4Fs, P-40s, P-51s, Ki-43s, etc.) are on that list, along with other gems, such as...

Akemi's Mitsubishi A6M Zero, his Kawasaki Ki-61 Hein, his Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden, his Ki-45 "Toryu," and his early Nakajima Ki-43.

Wolfi's Curtiss Helldiver, and his Junkers Ju-87 Stuka.

Tango Romeo's collection of American medium bombers: The A-20 Havoc, the B-25 Mitchell, and the B-26 Marauder. He also has a wonderful Messerschmitt Bf-110c.

Brunosk did a fantastic Supermarine Spitfire Mk. V (with the Vokes sand filter and without) as well as a Fairey Fulmar, Martin Maryland, and a DeHavilland Mosquito.

Canion recently released an outstanding Henschel Hs-129 "tankbuster."

Bismarck13 came out with an entire fleet of Bristol Beaufighters, as well as some French fighters, including the Dewoitine D-520 and the Bloch 150 series. Thicko then did the Morane-Saulnier Ms-406.

Groundcrew also released a nice collection of mid-to-late Bf-110s, including the E and G models, while Bismarck13 also released a couple of nice versions, including an F model, I think.

There is a nice multi-lod version of a Messerschmitt Me-262 now that is available.

Thicko also released several creations for the Eastern Front, including the MiG-1 and MiG-3 fighters, along with outstanding Gloster Gladiators, and some other aircraft for the Pacific.

Sky Unlimited released a beautiful, multi-lod Bf-109f that has been converted and flies in CFS2.

There's also a beautiful, multi-lod Junkers Ju-52 transport now.

In short...there's A LOT to be had...:wiggle:

Great to see you on the forums again Jed!

Indeed, that has been a long time! Great! You Defiant was a well loved plane in my hangar, as was the Battle and the Skua and the Roc and the Wellesley.

Thanks again. Looks like I have a fair bit to download. I'll try to get an old copy of FSDS it's easier than Gmax and good enough for me. The prentice is now coming along nicely but I'm not sure if it will work in CFS but it's more of an FS9 or FSX aircraft anyway.

Cheers Jed
