Work with the F-22 is progressing smoothly. A lot of the different contours and lines around the flight control surfaces have been added. Also the thrust vector nozzles have been added to the model. Other than that keep a look out for the F-102 that is soon to be released by Razbam, and don't foget the Lockheed P-38 or Cirrus Vision from FSD. Shoudl be more news upcoming about those, and other aircraft as they near release. So without further delay here are the new shots of the F-22, and as always comments and crits are welcome.

I'm not a big real world craptor fan, but I've wanted a good one for FSX for a long time. It's almost a requirement that the FDE be capable of controlled high Alpha flight. Will this be an FSD release?
 
I have the F-23 by FSD which is fine but would have prefered a decent F-22 - I will buy it :ernae:
 
The publisher is unknown at this point in time. Usually the models get finished up and then they go on to the dev's for the FDE, texturing, systems modeling, etc. The bar is getting pushed higher with the P-38, and higher than that with the F-15. I would expect the F-22 to get a similar treatment and benefit from the planes before it. :ernae:
 
I really can't wait for the F-15 and F-22. If the P-38 and F-15 WIP shots are anything to go off of, the F-22 should be one amazing plane.
 
Well, I have a suggestion about the FDE. I have used the Alphasim Raptor for some time and became aware of the excellent high AOA capabilities of the model through a friend of mine. Considering the limitations of FS9, it is remarkable what the model will do. It nails a lot of the maneuvering envelope but of course is limited on other parts. It's in the ball park. The other thing is that I discovered that the KBT Mitsubishi F-2A could be flown to high AOA without the plane going out of control when nearing Zero airspeed typical of many FS FDE's. It would be worth looking in those two directions when an FDE is created for this model(when the time comes) and maybe expand upon it as much as possible.
 
The other thing is, regarding the afterburners and the moving nozzles. It would be possible to model that in FSX with the built in flame effect would it not?
 
We are always looking into different ways to make the aircraft as accurate as possible. We will have to see once it is up and running in the if there is anyway to manipulate the effect. At this moment it is just about getting as much information together as possible and finishing the model. I would think the high AoA of other products would be due to the massive amount of power available from the engines. Takes a good amount of power to push a 60,000+ pound aircraft to it's limits. This one is no exception.
 
When I look at these types of pics I tend to do so with an eye toward how the model is shading. That says a lot to me about the model. In this example...:ernae:
