I have to disagree with old Forbes on the selections. Maybe the Cube, but not the others! That RX-8 is a nice, fast, good handling car.

Hey All,

I'm a Nissan fan and have to admit the Cube is pretty ugly but the rest are just fine looking vehicles. To me the 2010 Mazda 3 coupes have the stupidest looking grille pattern on the front - like something out of a Cars movie. I feel sorry for those who drive them even as I know it is a good driving/handling car.

There are going to be some ugly cars as right now things are a changing. What was hot is not and no one knows what will be hot next.

jeez forbes mught as well remove what little content there is at the mo and make it one big ad page!:monkies:

The cube is not the best looking vehicle in the world but the rest are jut fine, and the RX-8 can actually be quite pretty.

The Cube is ugly, The Crosstour is unusual but it grows on you. If I had the cash, there would be an all wheel drive Ford Flex in the driveway (I am a Ford guy)

I see most of these cars on the road when I'm at work (in the road) and we have come up with nicknames to use on the radio when calling the last car in a line of traffic so we can send the opposite lane...

Toyota Prius = Lunchbox
Smart for two = roller skate
Honda Element= plastic box
Scion Xb = Box
Nissan Cube = Ugly cube
Toyota Highlander = There can be only one (I only used this name with one particular partner since he's a sci-fi geek like me...)

Yep, the Cube is ugly personified. I would not own the Crosstour or the Acura ZDX, simply not my kind of automobile, but for the type of automobiles they are, they are not ugly. In fact I think the Crosstour is plumb pretty to the Mark I eyeball in the flesh.

The Flex, yep, ugly enough to put scabs on a dog's arse. Brian, the Flex is listed as a station wagon, not a crossover or SUV. Why can't Ford just take a new Taurus and make a station wagon? Better yet for me, bring the European Focus ST station wagon to our shores. "While it’s unlikely that we’ll see the Focus wagon on this side of the Atlantic, the company’s One Ford pledge to develop vehicles for the global market means it’s not entirely out of the question." So I guess there is hope.

Not too bad in the wild actually, the Nissan Leaf looks much worse!

Bit strange to see the RX-8 on the list as it isn't a 2010 car but several years old already?

Exactly.
Not a big RX8 fan but it shouldn't be included.
The critique is subjective ie, I detest the Dodge Nitro but some people must like them because they've paid to own one.

A contender for ugliest European car of all time has to be...

The FIAT Multipla

Fiat-Multipla-1.jpg

:barf:

Kilo,...for sure the Fiat Mutipla is one butt ugly son of a gun vehicle. In fact, I hadn't seen one before until you posted it above. Now that Fiat and Chrysler are now connected at the hip,...I'd think there would be enough common sense between them not to market it here in the US. Where the 'Cube' is a bit iconoclastic looking,...and maybe appealing to the younger buyer....much like the early two stroke Saab 96's of the 50's and 60's....this Fiat would be a hard sell in the showrooms. No matter how practical it might be,.......course' ya' never know,...beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Who ever designed the fronts of the new Mazdas should be tarred and feathered. They look like a giant frog.

I just test drove a 2 and 3 and I admit, they are nice cars but I can't get over the front.

Bought a Kia Coup and am very happy with it.

The RX-8 and the Accord...Forbes really doesn't have a taste in cars.

I nominate the Passat CC for the "fugly award".

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The Edsel was the laughing stock of its era. Now, collectors are trampling on each others to get one.

Anything that goes astray of the "suppository on wheels" general scheme is good with me...:kilroy:
