Yes, I liked Roberts, Lawson, and Rainey....Wayne Rainey was Mr Cool #2, just shaded by Eddie Lawson who was Mr Cool #1.
Sad that Rainey's career was cut short at Imola, I happened to be watching when he came off.
However, I was never much of a Schwantz fan.....
One of my favourite riders. Boet van Dulmen. He was active between 1975 and 1986. Always remained privateer and only won one GP in 1979. He was very approachable and always prepared to answer your questions. He died last week in a traffic accident aged 73 years young.
He was one of the great 3 Dutch riders in those years, Jack Middelburg, Boet van Dulmen and Wil Hartog. The last one was the most successful and is the only one still alive.
Like you Ed I wasn't very fond of Kevin Schwantz too.....
