This has to end; My Cousin Tim has passed..

Owen, sorry to hear this. Like you said, it has been a tough year, wishing you & your family the strength to bear another loss.

You take care of yourself Brother Hobbit. My own family is going through much the same thing this year, so I know some of what you're going through. PLEASE stay well, and DO NOT despair.

JAMES

I too am sorry to hear this Owen. My deepest sympathies and condolences to you and the whole family.

The death of a family member is one of the hardest most difficult thingsany of us has to go thru. Keep the memories of all lost close to your heart. But also know that we can not live forever, there is always and end. It's a shame that the end comes too quickly for some, but God has a need for them that we can not change.

In 1988 7 of my family members died in a year. My father, Aunts and a few cousins.

In 2001 10 of my wifes family members died in 6 months. Her Father, Brother, Aunt, Uncle and numerous cousins.

When I was a young lad of 16 years of age I worked at the Grocery Store. One day I took out the groceries for an elderly gentlemen we had a short conversation and one of the things he told me was the hardest part about getting old was watching all of your friends and family die.

Be thankful for the time you have had with the ones you love and make the best of what you have left.

Prayers and sincere condolences HH, when you reach our advanced years, these things happen way too often. I have attended more funeral this year alone than I have in the past five years.

Caz

Thank you ALL very much..

I once heard that there comes a time in some folks lives when you attend more funerals then parties..
I guess this time has come..

May God Bless each of you..

As Caz put so well , when you reach our age unfortunately we have to go through this sad time in out lives . There were seven brothers and sisters in my Dad's family , two uncles and two aunts in my Mom's family . They are all gone but one aunt on my Mom's side . I have lost my entire immediate family I grew up with :
My Mom , Dad , and two brothers . I'm not sure why the Good Lord spared me cause I certainly have not been the world's greatest father and husband but most of the time I tried to do my best . He must have had a very good reason. I now try to live my life the way He would want me to .

Hobbit:
Hang in there and all of your friends here at SOH are here any time you need us .

Rich

Addition: As I reread my thread it certainly appears that I made it into my losses over the years but intended to show that unfortunately we all have to go through these terrible losses . Does not make it any easier , does it ? We all are thinking of you here.

I think it was Betty White who said "You have to be tough to get old."
