This is Community! Flightport EDRY + Museum released

Joerg, very nice to see you here.

The real Constellation event on 30th May in EDRY Speyer should be very interesting. My current plan is to be there, too.

I checked the airport with Manfred Jahn´s Super Constellation in FSX today - and it was a real challange in FSX to bring the Connie down in EDRY.

@Navy Chief
In the backyard of Maximilian Straße 13 there is a famous Event Location called Alter Stadtsaal. And there is a Association called Alter Stadtsaal e.v. Please try Google.

Thanks Kilo and Thomas!

Wow! It would be so great to be able to attend the Alter Stadtsaal someday. I doubt I will ever be able to afford it, unfortunately. Thank goodness for the Internet. At least I can see what it is like and what I am missing!

Thank you for this scenery. Fond memories of the Speyer area and the friendly people I met there in '82.

Thank you very much, very nice!!!

Any plan for Museum Sinsheim also to do? For the ones that does not know, the two museums belong together.

You are right they belong together. To be honest the Museum Sinsheim and the airfield (EDTK) is not on our list. We get requests for specific airfields very often, but we cannot develop everythin.
Some people offer their help by taking pictures but to make pictures takes some hours depending on the size of the airfield. Designing a scenery takes many hours, days, weeks and some nights...

Hi Pete,
here are too pictures from the house in Maximilianstr. 13. At the ground level there is indeed a tourist information. First pictures is taken from Maximilianstr., the other one from the rear side of the house.
Some more pictures will follow via PM.
The last pictures shows the Super Constellation backtracking to the gas station. It is a real large aircraft for that airport. It was a great event.

Some more pictures of the event. What a beauty, what a sound! Perhaps a
little bit too much for the rabbits.

It was a great event we will never forget. Here is a small video of the flyover and the full stop landing on runway 16. It was very windy so you hear primarily the sough of the wind.
Enjoy

I heard her flying over our house yesterday. The sound of 4 large radials is hair raising. Unfortunatly I couldn't see her because of a low cloud deck.
But I've seen her flying a few times, as well as the Ju-52. They always pass Karlsruhe when the fly to or from Basel. Always a pleasure!
Lovely pictures.

[Edit] Haha, I just noticed the rabbits on one of the pictures above! What a stampede! Only one of the runs toward the Conny, that must be the airplane enthusiast of the group.
Also, they look huge, but that might be an effect of the zoom lens!

Cheers,
Mark

Ha Mark, the Ju-52 i saw too! One day last week she flew above my house @Jöhlingen...:wavey:
On Saturday I was @Achern, i thought that I hear some radial engine there too but did not have seen anything...
