This thing is an absolute hoot to fly!

Yup it is, I also have it. From what I understand it is based on actual aircraft that has to be the smallest twin engine in the world. :costumes:

Awesome film Tom!

A beautiful day of flying over Switzerland.

It would be interesting to see other forms of planes that were that small, inexpensive to own, etc. I wonder what Rutan would come up with..

The usual bit of info
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colomban_Cricri

There's more stuff around the net if you want to read.
If you want a change of sound and yet want to be "authentic"....
Noted French pilot Nicolas Charmont has installed 2 AMT Olympus
turbines in his Cri Cri together with AMT on-board automatic
start-up units and individual EDT's.
The Cri Cri weighs 170 Kg, and should have enhanced
performance withover 36 Kg of thrust available.

But I'd sure be wearing ear protection!

Very neat little plane. Visibility in that thing would be incredible...great for sight seeing flights. I have to give it a try in CFS2.

Somewhere I have old home movies from Oshkosh back in the late 70's, early 80's of a two ship formation team flying these. From what I remember the routine even included an inverted 360 degree turn! Mirror image stuff, etc. Have to try and find the movies. Gotta get that stuff transfered to DVD before they get too bad.

Got it converted to CFS2 and it is a blast to fly. Not how accurate my air file is (ran the stock Air and Config files through Air Wrench and saved them in CFS2 format)...but the little bugger is as nimble as a greased ferret! Those little motors are a hoot to hear revved up.

I sure wish Banana Bob could do something with the propwash, but since they are in the main textures, I kind of doubt it.

I just love the little beast!

I am sure that the truck was moving to give it some added speed for TO. It does have a short TO run, but not the distance of a semi trailer. I have seen old footage of barnstormers landing a Jenny on top of a moving train boxcar.

Hinch

Both the links on that page give Error 403 - I found that earlier and hence gave the Simviation link to the plane rather than here.

Edit: thought I had found the source file but no. But I have found some more video - click on the video link at the top of the page.

Hopefully one of our poly pushers can get the gMax file and do a pilot for the little squirt. :d

Well talking about small aircrafts: there is this guy piloting a very small (1:2 scale) Focke-Wulf 190.

Alex

These were from W.A.R. Aircraft(?) I believe. There was also a 1/2 size Corsair and I believe they were working on a 1/2 size P-38 but never finished it.
