Now I know from time to time that some of you have probably done this, but for those who haven't. . .here goes.
I took a flight from Plum Island (2B2) to Miller's Field (ME74), which depending on your ride can take from 30 minutes to an hour and 30 minutes, lol. Anyway, after landing at Miller's, I decided to take I-95 into Bangor to the airport and then fly back to Plum.
Loaded up my BMW, set up a new view in overhead view (to watch for the oncoming turns, etc), checked the mirrors, checked traffic and headed out, lol. I couldn't find any way to immediately merge from the side road than runs by Miller's so I had to pick a spot and go "off road" a bit, lol. Anyway, up onto I-95 merge with the traffic and set the cruise at 70, lol. If you've watched the AI road traffic you know that stuff just disappears and then reappears with no regularity, so that was interesting, but for the most part, with all traffic on my side going the same direction it was no biggie. Based on my speed, the AI traffic actually does cruise along at pretty close to the average highway speed so that was interesting, but what was really interesting was when I got to the intersection of I-95 and the road I needed to take around to the airport, lol, lol. We all know this is a sim, but there's still something disconcerting about trying to merge with AI traffic that doesn't stop moving, LMAO. . . It was white knuckle time folks, I could sense a bit of road rage coming on, lol.
Anyway, I was able to finally ignore my impulse to flash the "Hi" sign to a few cars and eventually got onto the airport and followed the perimeter road around to the Terminal. The flight back to Plum was uneventful, lol, lol. PHEW!!
