Thorp Update

N2056

After posting in the recent RV-8 thread about possibly releasing an interim version of my Thorp T-18 I decided to dust it off and play with it a bit. At this point my thought is to release a version that will be minus the pilot and the L-39 style landing lights I intend to include in the finished plane. It will have one paint scheme. This release would include a paint kit that will be compatible with the final version. I'm hoping this could be out by next weekend. :salute:

Interested?

Here's a current pic...

Looks great Robert!:ernae:
I must admit I do like to see a pilot figure because I fly in spot a lot...perhaps one of the modellers could lend you one?

I actually have one, but the amount of time it will take me to get him placed and animated will be considerable, and I have other projects ongoing as well. This would allow people to at least try it out.

I'd like it now unfinished or I'd like it whenever you feel it's done, Robert. It's your baby and you should do whatever you feel like doing, and feel no pressure about it.

Slowly we're getting a pretty good collection of homebuilts and the Thorp is one of those great designs that really got homebuilding going.

cheers,
steve :wavey:

The pilot doesn't need to be animated, it just needs to be there in the external view, else the plane won't be "screenshot-worthy"' :D ;)
Good to see this little plane is almost ready. I like how the canopy glass looks, although it's still a bit too much transparent. Did you paste a texture on it ? Something that we could edit later ?

Oh cool, you're still at it!

I could lend you one of my fugly 328 drivers in .3DS format if you want to.

Or ask Lionheart, maybe he still has one or two figures.

My goodness, what's with you and glass?!?

Thanks for the comments. I'm going to take a look at using the guy I did for the Quickie project. If I'm lucky the only real work will be in getting him to sit up straight.
