After my wife's out patient therapy sessions today, we stopped into the local Salvation Army Thrift Store....and they had stacks and stacks of models. Mostly aircraft, a few pieces of armor (tanks), a few subs, a couple battle ships.
I picked up three of them: AT-6 Texan, F2A3 Brewster and some training jet my wife liked...the one used by the Red Arrows flight demonstration team....in US terminology it is the T-45 Hawk.
Usually, I can walk into that store with a hundred dollars to spare and they have nothing of interest. Today I go in with 20 to spare and they had at least 2 dozen models that I would have liked to purchase...P-51D, Lancaster, Spitfire, P-40, Ju-88, 190 and 109...all in 1/48th scale. Prices ranged from $2.99 to 14.99 each.
