• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

..for tonight is the Winter Solstice and we get a full eclipse of the moon in North America too.

Unfortunately I don't have a fireplace to light a yule log but may light a substitute in it's place in the barbecue outside. I look forward to this time of year as it means the year is on the turn and warm weather will eventually return to these northern climes. That is far more significant to me than all the other stuff going on right now.

I will pay homage to Mother Earth and the star Sol for without those none of us would exist and wish you all a happy yuletide.
 
Trying to convince myself to get up earlier tomorrow and brave the elements to get some pics(-10 degrees Celcius at the moment with snow forecast coupled with dense freezing fog) :d


Apparently...a spectacular red sky is forecast, if you can see it!

The full eclipse is at 3:17 a.m. here and I doubt I will stay up long enough to see it although I do like to watch them normally. Add to that a weather report for increasing cloudiness and snow flurries and the chances of seeing anything go way down. :crybaby:
