Tigercat, Tigercat, burning bright ....

OK, I know I'm being thick (again), but I can't find Milton's F7F Tigercat on which to mount the inimitable Jan Kees Blom's cracking repaints. Any guidance would be gratefully received,

Oddly I was searching for this just yesterday and couldn't find it. The repaints are in the library but the base aircraft is not. I don't know if it got deleted when Gord Madison threw his famous hissy fit and then tossed all his toys out of the stroller or not. I still have his unfinished bare metal version on my HDD but I know there was a Milton and Team version at one time that we used to use in FSX in the Round the World Race and that has gone missing too and that had absolutely nothing to do with 'Gman5250' as far as I recall. Hmmmm.

Sadly they are portovers of the FS9 models, not the native FSX version. I've checked Simv, Avsim, Flyaway & Rikoo to no avail.

Sadly it looks as though Tako_Kichi may have hit the nail on the head, toys out of the pram time.

Flight simming is not toy. It is not game. It is REALISM.

That is why real world airlines especially Buffalo Airways and German airline Lufthansa use FSX, P3D, and MS2020/MS2024 to train their pilots.

I will never call flight simming a toy or a game. I call it realism.

Aharon

I luckily saved it along with a bunch of other stuff before my old Win XP computer tossed it's cookies. I have the file zipped and will sent
to Tako-man when he PM's me an email addy. He wants to check it out!

Could perhaps someone in a different pram not carry out an equivalent native FSX conversion of the FS2004 model?

Asking out of ignorance and from the safety of a transatlantic Highland redoubt.

The tanker version for P3D as packaged by Nicholas Mitchell aka SATO/Scorch00 is still available here at SOH. I tried a conversion back to FSX with McX and it kinda works, but looks not as nice without PBR or proper metallic shine... sad...

I am familiar with doing conversions from FSX to P3D but not from FS2004 to native FSX so I am inclined to say possibly BUT it might have issues. The biggest issue between FS2004 and FSX/P3D is that FS2004 only has a single model file that covers both the external and the internal shape of the aircraft whereas FSX/P3D use two individual models, one for the exterior and one for the interior. The animations between FS2004 and FSX/P3D are also vastly different so it is not an easy task as many animations have to be redone for the FSX/P3D version.

Is there a tanker version WITHOUT the belly tank? If there is that might be easier to re-work.

but it seems the tank doors can't be removed!
Perhaps Blender? I added the large sponson tanks to the H-46 with Blender, but I can't get it back to FSX. Always something else to learn how not to do correctly.

Tako checked the one I sent him and it turned out to be an FS9 port-over! He's still searching.

I have been working on a re-conversion to FSX/P3D. The models are more or less converted {it has been a busy summer and I can't remember exactly where I left it). I do know that I don't have the skills to create the PBR textures that it deserves for P3D but if someone can assist I could probably get FSX and P3D native versions out this fall.
I did get approval from Milton many moons ago but never got them finalized.

If you can get it to two FSX models (interior and exterior) and xml gauges I can assist in getting it to P3D and PBR textures.
