Time to brag about your FSX Christmas gifts thread

Got mine earlier, FSX gold, hence my appearance here. Track IR4 and the Wellington addon. FSX runs okay on my old clunker, better than I had hoped, so happy days. Track IR is probably the best thing I've ever bought for FS, why did I wait so long!!!? Not so happy about the panning in chase view, is it me, or is it backwards? I'd rather turn it off altogether if anyone knows how? (chase view). Lastly, the Wellington hasn't arrived yet, but looking forward to it. Also got some money to spend, but will let the dust settle on my new FSX before commiting to anything, FS Passengers X is high up there, maybe wait for the Kodiak.

I also got an auto darking welding mask, no more stricking an arc with my thumb, lol, now how did I ever live without one.
Those masks are awesome. I tried one and it makes life so much easier.:mixedsmi:

I got a Kindle and a $100 gift card from Barnes and Noble along with the usual shirts and stuff.

I'm really interested to hear what you think of that Kindle. I've had my eye on 'em for a while, but I'm afraid of early adopter syndrome. Let me know how you get on with it.

I don't have it in my hands yet. I just got permission from the boss to order one.:costumes: Now my dilemma is order now and wait 8 weeks for the first version or wait awhile and see what the Kindle 2.0 has to offer. I really don't see anything wrong with the first one though and it has rave reviews. As much as I read this is a must buy for me. There are rumors that the 2.0 version doesn't have the SD card. I guess I'll wait as long as I can stand it, prolly less than a week:icon_lol:

My wife and I gave nothing to each other but instead bought for the kids only this year, but I did get a beautiful free Meyers aircraft from Piglet and a Thermaltake Armour transparent side case with 25mm lighted fan...WOOOOHOOOOO Thank You Piglet
Ted

Let's see... a skil saw, Indiana Jones DVD set and what I was really needing.. socks without holes in 'em.

I've had mine since July, Bill, and I really like it. Reads just like a paper book, most bestsellers are $9.99. Great for me, living on a boat, as I just don't have room to keep paper books. Added benefit is that is has a browser (primitive) and always has an internet connection, so I can read the forums here when we're away from the dock and cut off from our DSL. :isadizzy: It's a cool little device.

cheers,
steve :wavey:

I got a Saitek Switch Panel and Piglet's Meyers 200D which I think is one of the best Chistmas gifts. Just finished flying it through the Grand Canyon, what a flight, nearly missed the Turkey dinner.

I got a new 22 inch LCD monitor, a videocard Nvidia 9600GT, a DVD pack "The War" by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, a DVD pack "Twin Peaks" by David Lynch and Mark Frost, a Logitech MX Revolution and many books (Mark Twain, Richard Russo etc)...:jump:
All this gifts were for my birthday and for Christmas.

Regards,

Stephan

I got Apache by Ed Macy. It’s the true story of life as an Apache pilot in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />Afghanistan’s Helmand province and a great read.
It also makes you realise just how brave those people who are serving out there are.

I got (actually I bought for myself:icon_lol:) a new system to run FSX on:

Core i7 920
Asus P6T Deluxe
3GB triple Channel DDR3
EVGA GTX 260
2-500GB drives running in Raid0

Quite an upgrade from my P4 2.66 system :redf:

FSX really smokes now...

A couple of very nice Cabs & Pinot Noirs.

Treated myself to A2A 3D Lights for $16.99 Xmas morning, woo - hoo!

Was also going to get the new ASA but I think I'll wait for a patch or two first. Everything I've read so far says it will be a nice improvement over my ASX.

Having fun with my presents:jump: Generally the wife and I quit giving presents this year, cause we gave too many presents in form of new furniture to each other in recent month. At least we had a nice christmas in the renewed home! Believe me, compared to buying new high quality furniture FSX payware is just peanuts!:banghead:

My wife and I got the same thing as last year, and the year before, and the year before .....June is heavily involved in a Christmas Toy drive. She began doing this over 25 years ago, and it has grown into a family thing. June operates the food bank (volunteer) at our church, providing food and essentials to those in need. This is not a seasonal thing, it is year-round, but her special mission is to provide every child that is referred to us gifts during the Christmas season. The kids at the school (Holy Cross Elementary) are active in gathering new toys and clothing items and it has become an annual tradition.
We got the gift of knowing that a lot of children who otherwise wouldn't have had anything, awoke on Christmas morn and found toys and gifts under the tree...

Merry Christmas
