Tim's Newest

Just one more. I couldn't resist thinking about the future that wasn't.

Sweet shots 3/7 charlie - I like your floatilla..........

Cheezy, what was your Alititude, I have not tried a cross US flight, that sounds like fun...

:ernae:

i stayed low, 40,000 asl. :icon_lol:
next i want to try the mods posted in this thread and fly to narita.

upon reaching honolulu, i cut the throttles back to idle and alowed the craft to slow naturally. it seemed to take a loooonnggg time. descending to the runway without using engine power the entire time, i still had to drag the brakes and come in real flat at the end in order to slow enough to touch down "safely". it was alot of fun, and a change of pace for me, considering my 3 main rides are the kodiak, the 182, and the aa-5b. :applause:

Hey,all. just another test card.

Just flew a simulated millitary profile: Launch LAX, 100% fuel, 4000lbs payload simulating 2/2000 lbs
'special' devices, target box 549 NM NE of Hawaii,Naval Task Group, 5 surface combatants. Normal T/O,
359 deg. climb at M=1.4 to 69000 ft, throttle up to half throttle, 20 deg climb. Set up trim to hold climb
M=3.99-M=4.4, 20-25 deg climb Hands OFF. The Aircraft skipped gently between 279000 ft to 450000,
speed between M=3.99-4.5. a nice, smooth ride all the way to the target box hands off, no auto pilot. She just
flew herself along. Descended over the target box at M=3.9-M=4.0 to 160,000ft for simulated target acquisition
and deployment of 2 simulated special devices, with brake away turn towards Kaneohe MCAS at 106,000 ft, M=3.99.
Arrived over head Kaneohe MCAS, mission time from brakes off in LAX, 82 minutes.
Who says there's no case for an aerospace plane. Instrument screen shots below. note stop watch, and TAS and GS.
No SLEW,really!
This is with the mod'ed config file. Piglet does impeccable work on his air and config.files, all I did was add
12000 lbs thrust, dialed up the afterburner fuel flow scalar, and bumped up the pitch stability.
With the default payload of 40000 pounds, its tough to get above 200,000/ M=3.
Thank you,Tim.

I don't like it, Tim is soo talented why carn't he make real life aircraft again, he's the best freeware designer available and these aircraft are so specialised it leaves us, real on earth as it were, pilots left out .... TIM I beg of you plz return to earth with at least a turbo prop or a turbofan lol I miss your designs and I hate spaceships lmfao!! Best wishes Peter UK!

Some tinkering. when complete ,with Mr.Conrads permission,I'll pass em along.
Still tinkering with coordinates. -XML controlled AB flame , shock wave lights.
still messing with the taxi/landing lights. glad you're enjoying the screenies.
I'm having a blast getting them. The ship is getting easier to fly through out
its envelope as proceedures are refined. How can you not like a Piglet Atomic
powered rocketplane that can reach 450K/M=4.5, is a hand flier, and can land
aboard ship or 3500 ft of dirt at 103 kts? Between the XA-38 and the 7072, I've had to cut back
on sleep. Now; I see a plane I gotta go wring out. Hey Riddley! Y'all got a stick of Beeman's.
I'll pay ya back latter...

Wow. missed that beutifully crafted post. Hard to imagine that kind of eloquence from a 46 year old. Thats the sort of thinking that made the species miss that fork in the road in '72. Dont Whinge! It you want more long tubular extrusions with wings, They've a sausage grinder in toulose that poops em out by the meter. Learn the developement tools and make an airplane. I am glad that there are developers out there who have some vision and humor! Does the world need another 1900D? no. How many aerospaceplanes are there for flight sim? Let alone freeware that is 100% better that 98% of the payware out there. lol? lmfao?

_____ ______. god I miss non-E -English. 3/7 charlie.
used. r8ed.

Never stop doing what you like, Tim. It like Christmas when ever you release a new model. I wont complane!

My gauges refuse to show up in this thing :(...

The GPS & AOA indicator show up, but nothing else.

Edit: Nevermind, I'm just an idiot.

Easy now, I think Peter was being a bit humorous in his post. If not...well, I got more Sci-Fi, make believe stuff coming... but don't dispare, next release is a real world affair. WITH MY OWN MADE UP PAINTS, AHAHAHAHAHAHA....!!!!!

They've a sausage grinder in toulose that poops em out by the meter
As A Piglet, I most definately have my own sausage machine...:ernae:
And one more thing. You guys are doing a bang up job expanding the flight model. I just wanted to have a decent flying Orion, so never pushed far past M1.5 and 50,000ft. You may also release these updates as you wish!:ernae::ernae:

About the IAS dropping off issue... is it possible to program a gauge to switch between indicated airspeed and GPS groundspeed? Orbiter has that capability in one of its default displays, and with this development it would be neat to now have it here, too!

Simulated reentry. :ernae:

Great shot! If that effect was possible in FSX it would be really cool...

I really like this bird. I've had such a fun with it.

I would think it is...

* Create an effect that looks like flames, adjust its area for along the fuselage and wings zones
* Create a gauge to turn on effect
* Create parameters for flames to appear, such as
-speed
-altitude
-angle of attack

Thus, when you start to descend at such and such a rate, and your speed is 'blank' much, and you are above say 120,000 feet, then your flames kick in and you have re-entry.

:d

According to canon, its nuclear powered (direct/indirect cycle SCRAM? Gaseous tranfer fission Variable cycle? Thermofenortinized
elastopogoelectric?) so we are running engines with opperating cycles way outside of what the MSFS drivers allow.suffice to say, the A/B really dumps out the fuel now.

If you want a nuke reactor, couldn't you just set the fuel flow scalar to be incredibly low and limit amount of fuel to some small amount you'd need years to use up?
