• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

A big, and i mean BIG token of appreciation for the entire SOH staff is in order.

Thanks to these people the site is run, maintained and kept free of a lot of nonsence. The Site admins keep the site running in excellent order, and give enthousiasts a place to share their hobby. It also gives people, new or experienced in flightsim a very valuable knowledge base for trouble shooting!
Even today i browsed through the database of all produced and shared freely, something that is made possible by....the SOH-staff.

We don't always have to agree with decisions made by the SOH staff, but that does not mean we do not appreciate what these people are doing for us; giving us a domain of our own on the big big internet....for free!

To the SOH-staff, a big, BIG thanks!

Job well done, and i hope you all will continue to do so in the future!

I usually check this site multiple times a day, to keep up with the latest flightsim stuff, to look at nice screens or to have a good laugh in the cantina, and so on. This is one of the best websites I know! But when you browse through the forums you see the other people looking and writing stuff, see that it´s a platform for people to share experiences, news, screenshots etc.... What one seldom sees is the people who work on the platform... But these people are the ones who make all this happen. So I will add my greatest thanks to everyone involved in the sim-outhouse! :medals:

Ickie, i don't know what happened. But man, you as the SOH dinosour here (that's meant in a very positive way), you cannot leave. Not you! Not this way! You are bigger, better, above and most important...more mature than this.

Reconsider and stay.

Though some do not understand and appreciate your role and history here, most of us do!, and really want you to maintain your station, hold your post!

I was wondering if Ickie had followed up that last posting in the BS thread and I cant say I'm surprised -

I figured there had to be an accumulation of perceived slights and remarks that had led to this decision and its a damn shame.

But it sounds to me like he has given more than most would have to the service of this community so give the man room, and commence to draw straws for the next victim.

I really enjoy the website and appreciate all the hard work as well, but if the website is going to be closed for legitimate reasons then I'll bet a show of gratitude won't save it. It's sad to say.

This website has just the right amount of moderation. I've been to websites where you can't post negative feedback, even politely and respectfully without having your comments edited/deleted. Noone wants a free-for-all because nothing would get done, so again; there's a nice balance here.

Thanks for what you do guys. I like our clubhouse.
 
I just read Ickie's posts. I hope he doesn't leave because of a few wierd posts, but if he has to shut this down for his health then we should all be understanding.
 
Very BIG THANK YOU!

As we mostly forget the labour behind the scenes, all appreciation goes to Ickie!!! I am saddened by the fact in the past many members left, because of some BS-threads. And wherever so many different people gather there´s always potential for conflict! We have to try harder - as I did long time ago with quiting my usual often political bad mouth;-) - to take care and use simple politeness in dealing with each other!!! "Time heals all wounds" Hope this goes for our maestro, too!

As for donations, I also must confess of being careless, a little here and there from most members would sum up to what is needed for the "hardware-part" and also being a form of appreciation for the hard work!

Wherever this place will move - and there have been changes in the past - THANKS and keep it up!!!!

This has been my virtual home for quite awhile now. I'm always excited to come here and see what others have found or are enjoying. I have learned alot about aviation real and virtual which has increased my sim experience immensely. It's the first place I come to when I go online and it's the last before I go to bed. I enjoy talking to folks from all over the world here and just the fellowship that exists here that I don't see anywhere else. This is a special place populated by folks I care alot about even though I have never met most of you. God Bless you all and may your New Year be the best yet. My internet has been out for a few days, first thing I do when it comes back on line is check the SOH and find these scary threads of SOH of being no more. "PANIC ATTACT!!! I agree with all the above. I have been to other FSX websites but this website rules!! I forget who said it but one of the members said it was like going down to the local pub after work and shooting the breez and I totaly agree. If I lost all interest in FSX, I would still hang out at this forum just to be with the gang and enjoy all the different characters and to the staff... I know you guys put a lot of work into the SOH and it is very much appriciated by me.
