Tongass Fjords X - One Shot

Had a nice flight recently, though didn't spot any good shots. I was almost ready to call it a night when I came over the hill to find the scene below. Even got lucky with the lightning!

Wow, that lightning really sells it. Do they get lightning up in AK much? I know down lower in the Pac. NW, we hardly ever see it. Still, it's fun in the sim.

It IS a very nice shot, but I'm a bit puzzled by that river that seems to be flowing over the hill...

great screenshot indeed, thanks for sharing!

About the river running uphill that's an optical illusion probably due to the wide angle (low zoom level) of the image. That's Knig Slough in the center of the image with the north arm of the Skagit River estuary in the foreground and they are all sitting at sea level.

Beautiful shot. Yes we occasionally get thunder and lightening here in SE Alaska when we get an Easterly wind out of Canada. Jeez Holger you oughta know what river that is....

Lucky for you. In nine years up here (south central) I have not seen any lightning strikes. Though I now need two hands to count the times I have heard thunder locally. Watching storms was always fun when I was younger (midwest and southeast US).

This reminds me that I need to get back to using this scenery. Thanks for the screen shot.
