Too hot in Arizona

Well, the heat is getting to me and we are moving from the torrid Phoenix heat this weekend. We are retiring to Pahrump, NV.

Of course it will be cooler there in the middle of the Nevada desert! Next life! But will be closer to Nellis and their airshow and maybe I can sneak across the mountains to Area 51. I'll give you a report plus pics after.

Bob

Hope your move goes smoothly. Of course, reading your comment about the torrid heat here in the Valley is somewhat ironic on such a beautiful day. Thundershowers, wind, and temps in the low 80's is paradise to me. But it's only a matter of a few weeks until the furnace is lit and the low temps are in the low to mid 80's. Happy retirement Bob.

I hate the heat here in Phoenix as well in the summers...

I hope you see some cool stuff in the skies! Sounds like fun.

We were in Pahrump a couple of years ago.....talking to a local who said it sits around 115-120 in summer..:icon_eek:.... our 105-110 in West Australia is more than hot enough for me.

Ahh, Pahrump, county seat of Nye County. Ya gotta wonder where the name Pahrump comes from. Maybe back in the old west days when the town was founded a cowboy fell off his horse and went "pahrump" on his backside. You never know. They used situations like that to name many little towns in those days. Does anyone know?

You do realize that living in the Kingdom of Nye you will be subject to the whims and rules of Lord Art Bell! :bump:

Haven't heard Art Bell name in what 10 years now. I believe he lives in the Philippines now.

What's this heat:icon_lol:. Come to Yellowknife or the Frozen Tundra Green Bay. WX is beautiful and cool.

I'm from Green Bay. Why do you think I live in Phoenix now?

True, but part of my blood is Arctic Canuk and I don't like being away from the Cold very long. Green Bay doesn't have any cold, just a chill:icon_lol:. But I want to visit Arizona once as I hear the climate is dry. That dry climate is best for someone like me when looking a warm area.
