I just hope it's not just thrown together as an attempt to milk more money out of a franchise cow. They hypersonic part of the last one was completely unrelated to the rest of the plot, other than to show that Maverick was willing to break the rules - which anyone that watched the original already knew. So here's hoping the writers have actually come up with something new and original...
