• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Tornado GR1 in-development

Regarding the HUD, I think the screenshot compression has not done it justice. It will have variable brightness and is pin-sharp etc. We'll post more pics of the HUD at a later date to demonstrate this.

Here are some pics showing the progress on the VC:

Its not the variable brightness/sharpness but the translucency that is missing. In reality there is a bit of mixing between the light reflected off the combiner and the light coming from outside. The material blend settings on the HUD polygon need to be changed.

Already well underway :encouragement:

This is looking better and better, if it's to the same quality as JustFlights Canberra it'll be great. I've often wondered why we've gone so long without a good quality Tornado for FSX?

It's looking goodish at the moment, but there is still a lot to do on the exterior - dirt & weathering and some texturing still. Once that's finished it should look top-notch. The same guy who built the Canberra is doing the work. In fact, the whole Canberra team are back together and working on this, so we are hoping we can pull off another award winning aircraft.

Here are two new screenshots showing the AFDS (autopilot) panel with terrain-following functionality and the throttles which are shown in the outboard position which engages the reverse thrust and/or lift-dump systems.
