Tornado GR1 in-development

WOW...ummmm....that's really cool...

...BTW...Any word on the F27 release???? :banghead:

Kent

I'm not directly involved in the F-27 project but AFAIK the final build should be arriving within the next week and the release should be shortly after.

Good to hear. Thanks for the heads up...

Tell 'em to at least post more pics on their Facebook page of the F27!!!

It's not that there ain't any other F-27 to pass the time...

Interesting control layout in that area of the Tonka cockpit. Wing sweep lever closest, then the throttles with a very narrow movement range for dry thrust and the flap lever behind that being partially obscured. This just screms for inadvertent operation of either control in the heat of the moment. I wonder what the designers at PANAVIA were thinking...

I don't know if there is any special background but the F-14 actually has the same positioning of these three segments.

Spent 11 years working on GR1 and F3 sims - never had a problem grabbing the wrong lever. Emergency jettison was another thing in the early days tho - slam the throttles forward on takeo6ff with your fingers pointing forwards and everything could fall off 😀

This is looking really nice. Wasnt that interested in the Canberra but a Tonka..

Hi,

Here are the first set of screenshots of the Tornado exterior with all the dirt and bump maps applied. I hope you're as pleased with it as we are :encouragement:

Obviously it's still alpha, so no need to point out any of the obvious issues at this time.

Amazing work! :encouragement: Can you say more about the weapons that will be modeled? There is a particular one that i like to see, it´s the JP233 dispenser:

There is a german version too:

Even just eye candy would be great. Thanks!

Can't say anything just yet because... well we haven't decided yet. We've got a list of all the ordnance it has carried and we'll select the most appropriate loads from there.

One more pic before I sign off for the night:

(The map is a placeholder whilst work is in progress. It should look much better before release)

This is awesome. Depending on how well the rear cockpit is done, I will be buying this as its one of my very favorite birds. Especially I would like the see the two MFD's as pop ups similar to how Dino did his MFD's in the F-14D.

Wanted to ask this a few times before.
Regarding the amount of liveries and what this aircraft is able to carry in different combinations it would really make sense to build in a load-out manager like it can be found in the aerosoft tomcat.

(Of course only allowing to configure like it would be in reality)

Well done Just Flight. The Tornado looks absolutely superb (as is your Canberra) and I look forward to flying it.

Good to see a HUD you can actually SEE thru too:encouragement:

Soon...

Sadly I haven't had a chance to get the Tomcat yet, so I'm not sure how it's done there. Our intention is to have a load-out and fuel configuration manager built into the screens in the rear cockpit position.

A bit like it was in the eurofighter i think... Just thought it would be nice to configure every single tank/bomb whatever instead of switching the whole load-out.
This brings a bit more variety.

Either way it will be a great plane and a first minute buy for me. Thanks for keeping us up to date

I dop agree with rezn550, a simple popup sheet to select stores individually would be ideal.
Anyway, I will be a happy customer if I can select standard training configurations with droptanks (1550 liter and 2550 liter Hindenburgers), BOZ107 chaff/flare dispenser and Marconi Sky Shadow ECM pod.
