Tornadoes rip through Texas

Flights at Love Field were shut down as well.

Our family was blessed all the way around. We live in Cleburne, not far from where the tornado touched there; but the family and homestead there are safe. Another tornado in Arlington pealed the roof off the nursing home across the street from the special needs school my son attends; but he and his classmates are safe. And we were told to take shelter here at Love Field; but the all clear was given, and everyone is safe.

Still reports coming in from Forney and elsewhere; others out there may not have been so lucky.

This area is so fortunate; it is believed a total of 15 tornadoes touched down in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The same storm that tossed trailers weighing 20,000-35,000 pounds around like roofing shingles also damaged or destroyed 300 homes and businesses.

And yet, only 12 people have been reported injuried, and there were no reported fatalities. It is terrible to lose stuff, even everything you have. But we can replace or learn to live without stuff; what we cannot replace are those who are dear to us. And, after such an eventful day, it turned into a beautiful evening; the drive home was strangely normal after a day of such wild weather.
