Torpedo does no damage

I'm using Ground Crew HE111 with LTF5B torpedos loaded. I have a copy of this AC with the DP file changed to catagory 4 for torpedo bomber and I'm using the GC and VN ships (the same ships Rami uses in his August 1940 campaign). The HE111's attack as they should but the torpedos go right through the ships with no damage?!?!?!?! Any ideas?

Yes. In order for those torpedoes to work, you've got to go low and slow. No more than 30 meters off the water, at no more than 100 knots. Throw down a notch of flaps or two if it helps....but the "Flying Spade" is a very steady platform for this type of duty.

What were the altitudes and distances from target of the torp releases? Is it just you or the AI planes too?
 
And also i think that the distanse between your plane and the target must me over 500 meters.

The other thing is where you hit the ship.If yoor torpedo hits the center of the ship it will pass through and do no damage.Watch how the AI planes attack and you will see they hit either the bow or stern.
 
The HE111's were AI. Alt was 500 Ft and speed 120 kts. I'll try changing iot to lower and slower and see if it works. Also they were hitting the bow area. Thanks guys!!
 
Just set the AI to the lowest and slowest settings in MB with the last waypoint about 1-1.5 miles out and they will do the rest. In the pic below the TBD is, in fact, lower than 500 ft though in MB the altitude was set at the minimum of 500.
 
Lowest and slowest setting and they still go through with no damage. I think I have my waypoints set up wrong though because the only way to get the AI enemy torpedo bombers to hit the ships is to set the attack point on the ship back at the ships spawning point. But this makes the AI fly past them and come around to atack. Is there a better way to spawn the bombers, have them fly directly into the path of the moving ships, drop the torpedos and continue on in the same direction?
