I'm with the other guys who couldn't sim without a TIR anymore. One thing bugs me about it though, or more specifically the Track Clip Pro -- has anyone else found them incredibly fragile? I've now broken three of them over the years. That thin little plastic stalk seems most prone to damage, right where it goes into the swivel joint. My advice is to treat yours with extreme care. As for me, I'm back to my hat and metal Track Clip again. At least it's fairly sturdy!
I'd buy the bundle if you can get it.
Another annoying issue is the deadzone when you try to look up and to the left (while in the pattern etc). Because they ask you to place it on the left side of your monitor, certain angles don't work out correctly, and when I look too far up to the left the receivers fail to capture my movement and it just pauses at the last spot. I can look up and to the right no issues.
I've had TrackIR4 for a few years, and I've been wondering what benefits "5" has...maybe I'll google it, finally. Peter, if this is your first TrackIR device, you'll be kicking yourself for all the wasted time you've put into FS with the hat switch. Moving your head around to see is the most basic part of real flying.
Bone, Just download the TIR5 software. It's a free update, and is much smoother and much more positive. Huge improvement!!
I love my TIR, but lately I've actually been getting airsick with it!! Not comfortable! I think it is caused by FSX's built in head bob combining with my movement. I have to turn it off and go back to the hat switch for awhile.
Thanks for the HU, and BTW, you can zero out the Dynamic Head Movement in the main FSX CFG. It makes alot of difference!

Can you tell us how it´s done?![]()
