Trains...

About 3,000 miles from my home :)
But trains add a lot to VFR flying in X-plane, so will be interested in the possible European expansion...
 
I'm very much looking forward to this! I've been wanting an addon like this in MS flight sim since the earliest days I got into it. There are a lot of railroad tracks throughout my home state of Minnesota and the Twin Cities, and I've always thought it would add considerably to the immersion of low altitude GA flying to see some trainings running those tracks. I've also always thought it would be cool to be buzzing some of the fields out in the country and come upon a train going by.

Back without irony: Watching those vids, I am really impressed. This looks like another big step regarding reality.
At current state, I would say it is almost the level like AI Ships.
I'd be interested in knowing how accurate they will follow the routes. It is a really exciting topic indeed.

Not much hope required, they have already said they will rentaionalise as the contracts end, or the companies fail.

I remember everyone complained when they were still nationalised, the only good that can come of this is cheaper fares - I've always found it incredibly irritating that the same distance of journey on two rail providers has such dramatically different fares. Eg £4 return compared to my local station, same distance and destination £14 return!
 
I was flying over Palermo in Italy last night (on the sim of course!) enjoying the beautiful photogrammetric scenery and noticed a moving train running along a track there. I have no addons in that area so it must be an Asobo thing, but never knew that they had them in the game. Has anyone else seen any?
