Trojan Horse

:wavey:I get the same thing with McAfee, I just deleate all bdps from Aircraft, Weapons, Objects and Vehicles.:salute:

...I think there's a bit of a myth surrounding ''bdp's''... In my experience my millions of mods, alterations and adjustments are always realized whether or not I delete ''bdp's''...
...and besides, its easy enough to delete them... You just do a search for ''*.bdp'' and delete what you find... :mixedsmi:

(...them poor old bdp's got a bum rap!) :icon_lol:

My Norton Anti Virus sees ETO BDP Zapper as a Trojan Horse :rocket:

:kilroy:Richcreator, do you have ETO 1.40 installed? If so, you should not be having this problem. The BDP Zapper and other like items were replaced by ones that do not alarm anti-virus programs.:d

:kilroy: The .bdp is a binary version of the .xdp to speed up loading of a model so you don't want the old version of the .bdp hanging around when you're modding the damage model or weapons or effects in the .xdp, not to mention viewpoints, weapon loadouts, etc.

We generally do these things for a reason.

...Thanks, mate. Its always nice to know there's a method to the madness...:p:

Madness is the perfect description of an attempted ETO install.

The only possible way for me to install ETO after all the attempted installs and uninstalls and reinstalls and failed installs and deleted installs is to scrubb my hard drive and start over with a virgin clean factory install of my operating system.

I'd be willing to bet my life that for every person who successfully got ETO installed there are a million who failed like me. Yes, madness is the correct word. Sheer utter madness.

Consider the very limited number of registered users here who discuss ETO.

:kilroy:Richcreator, go here and download the item listed: http://www.beauscfs3.leaveningonline.com/html/eto_files.html

These are the same files that are in ETO 1.40 that replaced the others that worried the Anti-virus programs.

You do not have to do all you are talking about doing.

Just delete out all the ETO install, all three folders.

Then reinstall, and put the files you get from Beau's site in your ETO install, and you should be good to go.:d

Norton and McAfee are the work of the Devil - expensive bloatware, identifying problems where there aren't any and disabling perfectly good (& essential) files. First thing I ever do, if I'm helping a friend with PC issues, is uninstall those monstrosities & install a sensible freeware alternative!! :gameoff:
