TR's Bf 110C Versions 3 and 4

TR's latest update of his Bf 110C is up and ready to download at: simviation.com

The VC has been greatly updated by our own Bismarck and previous skins will work on it just fine.

Ah that must have been the reason why I dreamt about Bf110's (and the limited choice for them in CFS2) last night!

Somewhere I missed versions 1 and 2 of TR's 110. I have James Grimes 110C and Paul Straney's night fighter skins for it. I have Mike Colclough and Gerald Keagan's C-4. I have 2 110 G night fighthers that were modified from Michael Gurzeka's 110 and Ground Crew's 110 G heavy fighter/night fighter. TR's 110 makes a welcome addition to the roster, I got V3 and all the skins over at Sopwith's. I don;t dogfight much, I took TR's 110 for a spin against some Soviet PE-3 heavy fighters and raised a little havoc in it, I like the way it flies.

Version four of Tango's Bf-110c is exactly what I was hoping for for the various campaigns involving the Bf-110c, including Fall Weiss, Hellas, and BoB / BoF. There are nine different weapons loadouts, and with a small tweak, the airfile is about 97% to historical specs.

Even better, skins from the previous versions (For the Western Front and the Mediterranean) fit this updated version perfectly, so she's equipped for all theatres.

One word of warning....advance the throttle slowly and hold on tight, it's a real chore to keep her on the runway! :ernae:

Amazing infrastructure

Hurricane 91

Which are those textures the G is standing on? The lines that mark the joints in the concrete slabs of the parking ramp look great. And which is the hangar?

It all looks really very real!!:applause:

Yaaaaaaaah! I got the G in heavy fighter and nightfighter, I did not know there was a "D" and "E"! I must have them all!

Thank you, aand a great day to you from the Master Of Horror.

There are some G versions lacking...

A lot of them used a pack with two nose 30mm guns, a belly pack of four 20mm guns and a schrage musik two 20mm guns in the gunner place. The radar operator used a swivel seat just behind the pilot. The plane was a hog! In my opinion, the logical way to use the BF110 was as a fast bomber and as a night fighter. It was clearly inferior to FW187 as a fighter and has the same range of the He100, that could replicate some P-51 aspects. One can imagine the Battle of Britain result if Germany used He100 escorts instead of BF110 ones.

Thank you Discus.

This is a place where one "G" is worth 6 "G"s, in Switzerland. The airfield is Payerne (LSMP) add-on scenery. The hangers at Payern provided a bit of contrast for the Swiss screen shots.
There is quite a story with this particular Bf-110. On 4-28-44, C9+EN made a forced landing at Dubendorf near Zurich and was interred by the Swiss. Since the plane carried the latest SN-2 radar, the Germans demanded that the Swiss destroy the aircraft. After some intense negotiations an agreement was reached. The Swiss would destroy C9+EN in return for six new Bf-109-G6s. Everyone was happy except for Hitler who was convinced that Oblt. Johnen was trying to defect. Hitler had Johnen's family arrested by the Gestapo, but fortunately Goering intervened. Oblt. Johnen and crew were returned safely and Johnen survived the war.
Groundcrew has included a short history of Oblt. Johnen in their "readme" for their Bf-110 which is a first class add-on aircraft for FS.

Radar aerials

Lookin' good Bis!:applause:

A question. You are showing the F4 nightfighter fitted with the later larger FuG 220 Lichtenstein SN2 aerials, should it not be fitted with the earlier smaller FuG 202 Lichtenstein BC 'matratzen' aerial array?

Below is either a F4 or G2 fitted with them (there's not many photos of F4 with aerials!).

Sorry to be a bit of a 'spotter', I'll get my anorak....:d

radar

I have 3-views of at least 6 aerial arrays and they are for the F and G versions but not very specific which goes on what version. Easy enough to fix if I know which one to make. This side view looks like the one you show in the photo, if it is the correct one I can whip it right out. Let me know . . .

Well if you're okay with it, the radar aerial array on the photo and your attached view is the correct one for the earlier F models. This radar array overlapped onto the early G models with later G4's having SN2 radar with the larger aerials. Thanks.

Good on yer Bis!

Okay . . .

How about this one . . .

Believe it or not, I post pics of WIPs in case someone spots something major wrong. I will just use the other version add some 30mms and call it a "G" . . . . Making Radar arrays is really not that hard after making all the really fun stuff like bomber nose glass and canopies. And I don't get all riled up either, I remember when someone made a Me210 for FS9 with the cannon totally wrong and I got reamed for pointing it out. Anyway, I just fix it. It is a lot harder to fix after you upload it, in fact at some sites they just leave the fouled up model there for download even after you send a fix for it . . .
