Truk Lagoon

It's coming along well - the project seems to keep growing - my biggest obstacle right now is: How to determine what add-ons are needed without trying to list every object in every mission - which ones are stock? I don't even know any more. Is there a smarter way to do this? I also need a catapult of some sort for the SB2C. Fully loaded, I can't get her airborne. Is it just me?

Ghostrider,

You can sort it by opening your .mis files and scrolling down to near the bottom and taking a look at all of the objects in your missions. Here is an example:

[unit_type.13]
type_id=4339
unit_family=4
name=inf_AtlanticWall_Bunker9 <<--Stitz Atlantic Wall Bunkers

[unit_type.14]
type_id=4386
unit_family=4
name=inf_predam1 <<-- Woza smoke effect

[unit_type.15]
type_id=4409
unit_family=4
name=inf_tents_round <<-- Stock MS round tent

[unit_type.16]
type_id=4550
unit_family=4
name=LDW_generic_1_med <<--Lindsay Watt tree

Once you have the list in front of you, you can then determine who made them a little more easily.

When I make missions to upload, I generally keep a log so that when I write the readme file, I can then write it and include everything. Then when you list everything, list them by packages and not individually. Ie. AF=Midway or LDW trees, etc.

Writing a good readme file can actually be harder than making the missions if you add a lot of objects.

What Model (Class and author if not stock) carrier, it's speed and wind if any and who'se SB2C and loadout? I'll give it a go.

Update

I tried taking off with the fully loaded Wolfi SB2C (2-1000 lb and 1-2000 lb bombs) and was unable to do some from the stock Yorktown class (ie; Enterprise) or the stock Essex. I was able to do it with the VB_SB2C with 3 1000 lb bombs and 10 5” rockets. Tests were performed with the ships moving at 28 kts – will try later at 30 as it was close with the Essex.

ShadowWolf, unless you get really unorthodox with it, this model will be used almost entirely in your sim as a carrier-borne weapon, hence no AI landing issues. So it won't hurt AI performance if you increase the flap lift in record 1101 of the air file. Increasing this usually affects the way AI land a model, making them "float" and land long on an airstrip. But it won't hurt in this model as they won't be landing on strips at all, again unless you get creative with land based varieties.

Also, increase WEP boost HP gain in record 505 to a value btwn 200-300 (*Boost Gain=XXX)
