• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I need to check the recipe when making toast!

What gets me is that,in the UK at least, every picture on the box has the words "serving suggestion" on it (probably to get around complaints as to why the contents look nothing like the picture!) This happens even when you have a pic of cereal in a bowl! Liek where the heck else are you gonna serve it? On a plate??

Bill, those dishes sound wonderful. Especially the lamb.

We freeze the leftovers. That gumbo was six quarts. Much of it will be frozen in quart ziplock bags, until we are ready for more.

Oh yes! I do the same thing myself. Several years ago the grocery store at which I normally shop had a great many "boneless legs of lamb" that didn't get sold during the Easter season. When they got to within a week of their "expiration date" I happed to spot them marked down from $5.99 to $2.99/lb! They had nineteen of 'em left and I bought 'em all...

...I still have five in the deep-freeze. Whenever I make lamb curry, I prefer to use imported mild Indian curry, which I buy in Chicago's specialty shops. I can usually get at least six meals from each batch, so I divy up the leftovers into quart freezer bags.

I'm still trying to find a source for sumac, so I can make some Persian style lamb kabobs and rice.
