I reinstalled CFS3 and gave it another try. Now I know that I didn't like it out of the box a few years ago. What are the essential addons to get for this game? Thanks in advance!

The ETO expansion definitely, Cees! Check this thread. I just installed it and having a blast playing it. Actually, I just installed CFS3 as wel today, haha. I had played a copy from a friend a while ago and recently (xmas) got FSX, which got me into the flying again. So got my own copy of CFS3 and immediately installed the expansion. Had to get a little help here to get it running, but now all is good!

For ETO Expansion (where the Dutch addon will be placed) you need to do the following thing:
- Install CFS 3 as you're used to do: do not change anything except updating to version 3.1 (updates available at Microsoft CFS 3 Gameinsider), do not add any addon (yet) You will need the clean version as a base for a succesfull ETO install
- download the main CFS 3 ETO Install file here and install it according to the manual
Starting up the game you will see a dos window allowing you to choose the several covered era's. May 1940 is era 1
- download the update to version 1.2 here Make sure that when you run the updater you have ETO in era 1

hey i heard a lot about the ETO pack. i have download it. but not unpacked it yet.before that i wanna now is it still possible to at planes and stuff.
and it must be a clean CFS3 isn't. so if i back up my planes and missions.
is it still possible to putt them back? later.
o ya one more thing i have 2 different CFS3
1 from Microsoft/ubisoft one disc
2 the original 2 two disc version.

I've always admired your airfield work for fs9, and you helped me years ago with some textures when I started out.
We've been busy with many new airbases for cfs3, hope you like them (and maybe you could bring some of your knowledge (and models!) with you too).

Help with CFS3 ETO
Hi, I just tried to install the ETO expansion, reinstalled CFS3 and patched to latest version, ran ETO installer, everything fine! Installation finishes, I look for desktop link - nothing. I look for the masteretobstartup.dat - nothing!
Checked the readme file and found out that [FONT="]Martin Wright's MultiCFS3 [/FONT]program should have popped up during installation - it didn't! States in the readme to run it manually but where is it? I can't find it!
The ETO expansion folder is where it should be.
Can someone tell me where the MultiCFS3 is?

Sascha66, it sounds like installation wasn't completed. Simply delete everything related to the CFS3 ETO Expansion and start over again.These are the two zips you need:
1. CFS3_ETO_Expansion_1.0.zip
2. CFS3_ETO_Expansion_Update_1.02.zip
Of course, you use 1.0 first. The installation of 1.0 is in three steps. Let the auto-installer run without interruption.
The first one will stop, then you click exit, the the second will begin, let it run until the end. At this point, MultiCFS3 will appear and you can then rename. If you still need assistance, please let us know. Good luck.:d

Cees Donker, please try again. Aussiex had changed their software, so the links changed. Here's the correct one: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?a...ads&showcat=10 It is recommended to cut and paste it into your browser's address bar, rather than use it here. (this is also found in this thread: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=7865 in Post #1). It now works quite well. Good luck.:dCees, in addition to ETO, I suggest that you try MAW (http://www.medairwar.com/), which was put together by a bunch of CFS3 SOHers. Presently, apparently the follow-ons have died, but what was done is outstanding. NetWings has their forum as a subforum to CFS3 and some Italian members are very active with it.

Lets see , OFF (over flanders fields, ww1) Total new theater, using cfs3 as a base. Same again for ETO ( updated cfs3 europe ,ww2) MAW( meditteranian air war ww2, north africa) KTWO( korean war , with jets) PTO ( pacific theater of operations WW2). Hmmm lets see thats five new games (5) NEW games. NEK ( nationality expansion pack ; Essential !!!) OH , you Must try the avhistory v4 flight models, they are still expanding there collection ... but .. oh my they ARE good ! In fact some say Best there is bar none!!:amen: So many addon planes vehicles , trains and drivable vehicles and ships , subs . Aircraft carriers etc ... You are going to have trouble going thru all the new stuff, theres so much. I have just been going up against 40 + dornier 17bombers + 109s and having a ball ( thanks pat pattle) in ETO. Take a long look around , there is soo much to choose from!:woot:
