I am flying the JU-88 and can't seem to get the bombs to drop. I am in the Pilot seat as I don't beleive that there is a bombadiar seat. I have the config to drop ordanance at "enter" and my ch pro is configured that a button is enter.

But nothing happens. I also have tried to drop bombs from the pilot seat using the keyboard enter...but still nothing drops.

I have tired F7 but no change in views so I don't know if this aircraft has a bombers seat.

Any help

I have the bomb bay doors open..and some of the bombs are stored on the wings..so I don't thing that is it.

I believe it is the Ju88 -6am ,,it is the one that doesn't have the window in the floor.

But I noticed,,that I can't drop bombs for any plane...inculding allies.

I may have to reload CF3,,as everytime I try and change the controlller file,,,it CTD

Have you changed your control settings from default? There's a bug.

Open your controls settings file; in XP this will be: C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Application Data\Microsoft\Combat Flight Simulator 3.0\CFS3.xca

If CFS3 is the name you used to save your settings. Otherwise it'll be whichever name it is .xca. Open it with Windows Notepad (make that default to save hassle.)

Look for this entry in the part attributed to your joystick and/or keyboard:

<Button ID="3" Action="ReleaseFireWeapon"/>
<Button ID="4" Action="SelectNextWeapon"/>

Obviously the buttons will be different.

The problem is that you will find they do not correspond to what you want, and that "select next waypoint" (IF I remember rightly...) does. I can't remember whether it's "SelectNextWeapon" or "ReleaseFireWeapon" which bugs and reassigns itself to Select Next Waypoint, but one of them does. If you delete that attribution by hand and copy the correct attribution over, it SHOULD be OK.

Alternatively, go into the controls assignation in game and try it out that way. Attribute (I think) the key you want to use to select weapons to "Select Next Waypoint" and see if it works. Or it'll be the other way round...

Sorry to be so vague, but I can't really remember what I actually did - but if you come at it logically, you'll find the trouble.

Remember Also,

In the Ju88 Dive bomber version especially, you need to align the entire aircraft towards its target in order to have an accurate hit, especially in Anti-shipping missions.Just make sure you are at least at 2500 feet or higher or else the shockwave will catch you and pull you down. It takes some practice, but we all get used to it when we get the hang of it.
