• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Now I know I'm not crazy. For the last week, I've been quietly noticing older threads not only getting marked as unread, but moving to the top of the que when they haven't been posted in. I don't get it. A thread I hadn't posted in for a day moved to the top earlier saying I had posted in it, and just now the volcano thread moved up. Srgalahad made the last post a while ago and there have been numerous threads more recently active.

When in the Newshawks view, it shows the last post as only a few minutes ago. When in the thread, you can clearly see Srgalahad's post was made at 6 something PM.

I noticed it too. I think it's because of the poll. When someone votes it's treated like a new post but because there isn't a new post it shows up the last one with the time they voted.

I have recently noticed exactly the same as you describe, in the photography forum. Funny...I wonder if there's anything that may be done ? It's not exactly annoying, but it's confusing from time to time.

Yup, if a poll thread gets another vote it will get bumped ot the top of the queue just as if it got another reply posted in it.
Basically, a poll vote is forum activity just like a reply is so that's how they get treated.

I'm too happy about the comeback of the "Select this post for quoting" button than to be annoyed by the "Bump thread by voting" feature. :d
