Number one, I am searching for a skin for the OH F4U1A in the markings of VF-17 Co Tom Blackburn's "BIG HOG" . One I do have has the red outlines around stars and bars, need one with the white and blue stars and bars. Anyone have one?

Number two. The "jumper" seen after bailing out of the plane is japanese, even if a US plan, pilot figure looks different after bailing out.Anyone have a US jumper? I saw some but were for ETO.

My apologies if this had been addressed before and did not locate the thread in my search.

Concerning your texture problem, if the only problem is to convert the red line atound the roundels to blue, just send me a copy, and I'll see what is possible to do.

Hi Dasuto247,

I believe the livery you have for Dbolt's overhauled CFS2 F4U1-A Corsair was originally painted by Cobrauk and it was the skin Dbolt's work came with.

It depicts the very first F4U1 'dash A' Corsair flown by Ltnt. Cdr. Tom Blackburn, C.O. of the famous VF-17 "The Jolly Rogers", the first land-based Navy squadron, first equipped with the new Corsair version. VF-17 first tour of duty in the Solomon Islands coincided with the late-1943 issue of the US new 'star-n-bar' insignias.

The very first 'star-n-bar' insignia version was outlined in red, changed after September 1943 to the solid US flag dark blue colour for the whole insignia. A choice dictated by the need of easing ground crews workload, when paint touch-ups were needed after war damage repairs.

Ltnt. Cdr. Blackburn reported in his book "The Jolly Rogers" that, when VF-17 started war operations, not all squadron pilots were lucky enough to fly the new 'dash A', whose deliveries were going a little slow, due to the huge war effort US industry was undergoing at the time.
Some pilots had to go into combat still equipped with the 'birdcage' F4U1, whose teething problems had been resolved with the 'dash A'.

Just a few historical notes I like to share with all sim-pilots around here.

Cheers!

Since I just completed a number of Corsairs I already had a number of templates I could use. So I went ahead and did an accurate "Big Hog" texture for you. It's been posted to the Warbirds Library downloads.
